Shuttle arrives at launch pad after delays

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. - Space shuttle Discovery completed a 10½-hour trip to the launch pad early Thursday after a brief delay caused by the discovery of a crack in the external fuel tank’s foam insulation. NASA later said the crack was no reason for concern.

Well, what can you say? What kind of remark could possibly convey the institutional idiocy apparent here? Couldn't they at least slap a little duct tape or something on it?
